Geomatica publishes research papers in English or French and is dedicated to the dissemination of information on latest knowledge and technical advances in the field of geomatics sciences including geographic information sciences (GIS), geodesy and GPS, surveying and mapping, cadaster and law, hydrography, photogrammetry, remote sensing, and their applications. This quarterly journal features research articles, invited reviews, perspectives, technical notes, and book reviews related to new developments in the geomatics sciences from Canada and abroad. The journal encourages publication of original research on new methods and innovative technologies for the acquisition, storing, management, analysis, representation, visualisation and sharing of geospatial information. Publications covering topics such as smart environments, smart mobility, human and environment interactions, 3D modeling and representation, geosimulation of geographic dynamics, spatial data standards, semantic interoperability, semantic technologies, volunteered geographic information, spatial data quality, geosensor networks, Internet of Things, big data, geospatial augmented (AR) and virtual reality (VR), and LiDAR and drone technologies are greatly encouraged.
